  4. To all "independent women" you will only have two choices: cat or dog?

  5. TooMe2BeYou says:

Being independent in thought and action is something many people struggle with!

  6. Linh Ngo says:

Women are socialized into these support roles. HR, customer support, withholding opinions, not brag, speaking with an upspeak voice, focusing on how we're all the same….etc. These are submissive roles/not be competitive. Don't be a hunter etc. Also, women are pushed into management as oppose to encourage technical expertise.

  7. Ekta Badhe says:

I'm 15 this year, and This is the age I start to actually figure out what I like, you know. Relationships and all aside. But the thing is, for example, i love reading and i'm starting to write my own books, a passion I really never knew I had, and many more but my family, father, sister mother, they really couldnt be bothered with me unless I get good grades and clean the house. I do get so discouraged but I realized that just because they dont really care about my interests or hobbies, doesnt mean I should give up. I find my own sources of encouragement and support where I cant get at home and this ted talk actually cleared up some things for me.

One isn't able to be independent in an unfair advantage

  11. I never had a father and my mother never cared for me going to collage. All of my dreams and goals were nothing to her and they bother her I felt as if my goals were insulting her as a person…. I regret not leaving her long ago and follow my own way with new people maybe that could give me support and encouragement. I am a smart and creative person and I don't want to waste it.

  12. Karen says:

Our companion is our partner not our competitor loved that.

  13. Karen says:

I could really relate to this. It made me change my way of thinking to more positive thoughts. "Don't have babies with Fred Flintstone" I loved it when she said that. She's amazing!

  14. RichleSS says:

3:09 it also happens with mans, if you dont dedicate the time that your partner feels he need, is obvios you were not ready to get into a big compromise like it is marriege. it is like a chain if your MAIN purpose is to be independent.

  15. You do have to choose that's what women have been fighting for!!!!

  16. there is some thing about doing something yourself that just give you a great sense of accomplishment , Like it really annoys me when people ask you to do something for them that they could do themselves. like some weird sense of entitlement to a deformed model of equality and lack of respect in allowing a person to find the experience and growth of decohering it themselves. What an amazing and unique opportunity in personal development.

  17. Wow. This is beautiful and inspiring. Thanks camila❤️
    Love from india 🇮🇳

  18. Fathers are treasures in this world. My father never underestimated me as a girl. I love him so much

  19. Nico says:

Being independent is important in our lifes as women. I think indepence's comes to us when we decide to ignore what people can think about us and their opinions. Once I heard some episode on a podcast that I like a lot about this, actually we are humans and is very normal to think sometimes about what someone else could think about us, if we don't think about someone else opinion probably we could be psychopaths, it is normal to think about that, but is our daily decision choose our opinion first, a psychologist once told me "your opinion is as valuable as another person opinion", and since that, I think I give more importance to my thoughts. As we all know, life isn't easy always as we would like, people, even people we love, could let us down, and that's why we have to forge our self-esteem, and forge our independence and our self-confidence, my message is for women, I think all, men and women, have a lot of weight upon our shoulders, but in that order why not support us as women we already are?, independece is the faculty to waking up and say everyday "I'm alive, I'll live as I wish, I'll built the life that I want for me", sometimes when I feel bad with myself and I realize that nobody is around me to taking some advises, I repeat myself all of those things that surely I would tell someone else, and that helps me a lot. Independence is a daily decision.
