    That's really great, you have a 40 miler completed. One thing that some people may not think about is the terrain you were on while walking that 40 miles with a pack on your back, probably works out to 50 miles on flat smooth ground. Keep on putting those tracks down girl.

  7. Very deep and insightful conversation about being uncomfortable. I think one thing that’s wrong with this world is that people give into their impulses when it comes to important things. But it is hard to know sometimes when it’s time to listen to your gut and when it’s time to reign it in. You were battling determination to stick to a goal and disappointing someone who meant something to you, even though you didn’t know it when you made the decision. I think that takes time to gain those insights. But the more we delay gratitude and get used to it, the happier we end up being in later years. That has been one thing psychologists are finding, so good on you for trying to stick to your determination even if it later felt like the wrong decision. It was a learning moment.

    Congrats on the 40. I really liked some of the breakthrough thinking in your commentary. Like putting your goal ahead of the problems (darkness, weather, aching feet) and distractions (trail magic, a comfortable stop). You've come a very long way since you started 150 days ago. I'm looking forward to the rest of your journey. Have you thought of using a spare pair of wool socks in place of the missing gloves?

  27. clorine will also get on your thyroid filter it back out if you can.get a good multivite with iodine in it to be sure you get enough each day.i don't know if Sawyer filters out iodine in the natural water that you are filtering

  28. you will feel better if you get 4000,mg of potassium.every day along with the oppisit.abot ,2000,mg. magnesium about 700mmg bump it up if your BP does not drop more sodium keeps your BP up.magnissium will decrease cramping along with potassium.this will help your indurance take off.salt substitute has all potassium try to find them mixed is more convenient.spinich is over 400mg kale is 700mg.eating four compact hand full will do it.take vit E if you use greens they have alot of K which is a coagulant.vit E makes your platlets slippery .reducing clots.hope this helps.for pain pinch your web bettween your thumb and forefinger.but visually monitor your feet so you don't over do it.one for finger across your left wrist palm up there are six pressure points to balance hormones.turn your palm over one forefinger length wise in the middle is a point for pain in your back.the point to balance your hormones are side by side a finger with apart.a set of three on one side and three on the other can't tell which side is progesterone or estrogen but this was effective for me when I got hoshimmoto s.a swollen thyroid when I had a tooth abstraction from an abcess.when in fought Google it to see the points I think this is a kind of emergency preparedness to know this stuff.high activity increases cortisol this decreases estrogen taking vitamin c brings down the cortisol allowing estrogen to recover in the morning.cotisole will reduce your thyroid function if you worked real hard.you can tell cause you will get a horse voice.jope this helps keep you strong and bust your immunity on trail.lol

    WW…aka Wonder Woman! What an amazing accomplishment … 40 day! How do you manage the cliffside trails with the huge drops? Just watching them makes my pulse race and nervous for your safety; then I come back to the realization and image of you at the terminus photo from IG; and I know you are home and well. I just keep thinking, wet rocky trail like the GOT shot; in the dark. You have bravery of steel!! Bravo again and I hope that you got to meet Nate and that Chase enjoyed his "40 Miles of Crow Pie" πŸ™‚

    I became a wildland firefighter because some guy said I'd never be able to pass the test…. well……I not only passed the test, I was one of the first girls to work for Calfire as a firefighter. I love it when someone says I can't… makes me want to do it even more! Congrats on that 40!!!

    40 miles…. freaking awesome! Think back to when you first started on this adventure and 12 or 15 miles seemed like an accomplishment. I know you finished the trail but it is still exciting to follow your travels. Keep the vids coming.
    The mental toughness and perspective on life that one gains from a through hike is something that can’t be bought and you will use throughout your life. Happy trails in life and keep stoked!
