Sony Bravia TV: Smart View (screen mirror) Won't Connect to Phone? Turn On Wifi-Direct!
You have a Sony Bravia TV (non Android TV) and you are trying connect your Android phone (In this video am using a Samsung Galaxy note 20 Ultra) using smart view or Samsung DEX and its says connecting then just disconnects then i show you how to fix this. After days of troubleshooting i finally found it was the wifi-direct settings on the Sony Bravia TV that was Off. Hope this helps.

You're a legend. Abit of a weird one with my one tho as my WiFi (connect) was already on. So I toggled it off and on again and cleared my connected devices on my TV and it's working! After 6 months why couldn't I find this sooner 😂. Thank you

I bought last year sony tv 2022 model to no avail nothing works, now even my eArc suddenly stop working, use all types of fix also nothing works, now I bluetooth to my tv with soundbar, before this turning off tv also turn off soundbar but now I need to manually turn off sound bar also after turn off tv, bad quality sony tv
I tried everything in this and other videos, and nothing worked for me. Then, I connected the TV and phone to another wifi network and it worked just fine! So, if nothing works for you, try to simply change your wifi name (it is what i did) and maybe that solve your problem 🙌
it doesn't work on x8000h . can't connect dex or smart view wirelessly to sony x8000h with or without this settings.

I hope this works mine is doing same exact thing, only difference is I started out able to use my screen mirroring or Wi-Fi direct and then towards the end of a movie it went blank and wasn't able to connect back to it it kept showing up and then disappearing like yours did
I bought a new to me xbr55 x850c. I did have to put a power board in this TV but screen mirroring used to work as I was able to watch stuff from my phone onto the tv. For some reason now, it will not work anymore. I can view the TV, I can click connect device and start now. The TV recognizes that a Wi-Fi device is connected to it. But then after about 15 to 20 seconds the top right of the screen shows Wi-Fi connection off. And then I have to restart the process. My phone will no longer screen mirror to the tv. I've already checked my Wi-Fi Direct settings and I've also turned Bluetooth off. No matter what I do, I can't seem to get my phone to screen mirror anymore on this TV. My phone screen mirrors on my other TV perfectly well

I don't know why exactly but I found my wifi direct to be turned on and it still didn't work. I turned the wifi direct off and that's when it worked lol thank you for helping me solve it
