SpaceX vs. China: The Quest for Satellite Internet | WSJ
SpaceX has more than 1,000 satellites beaming high-speed internet to Earth, but China promises to offer higher speeds with the launch of what it calls the worldโs first 6G satellite. Hereโs how both are on a quest to build powerful internet networks in space. Photo illustration: Sharon Shi

SpaceX internet will be able to bypass the Great Firewall in China, how is that going to work out there? I'm guessing it won't be allowed to be sold there, but there's always a way.
We all know from Snowden how much of a legal consent is required for scrutiny. A tricky psychological propaganda against Chinese based on perceptual illusion.
Who would want to get Chinese internet? It's either totally blocked, or used for surveillance.
China starlink is on the way, you will see thousands of China satellites in space. it's easier than chips.
If China tries to steal intellectual property from Space X then we can expect them to name it Space Z.
china 6G satellite launch last year
A global Internet with servers in space (such as Starlink) has the potential to provide free access to reporters without borders, freedom activists, UN workers and all the people who live in these prison states around the world and defeat all those dictatorships. Running silent networks on this space signal will also enable an unrestricted network whose signal can be picked up by cheap old fashioned radios or any TV and with a signal converter the size of a small piece of hardware like USB drivers, Google Box, etc. can be transferred to smartphones, computers, etc. Without ground stations, such space networks using a different type of Internet protocols can easily defeat all the enemies of democracy and the free world. But as always, people prefer to be admired for the upload speed of "their" stupid dog video or other junk content.
Chinese space junk..
China space internet will be better and more affordable to many countries including African countries.
I did not know that Wall Street Journal is a propaganda media similar to RT News. Edward Snowden would disagree with what the interviewer and what the journalist is saying: โ-But in the US the legal system provide a level of protection. -SpaceX cannot turn over data just because US intelligence will want it.โ
The Chinese government is bleating about SpaceX's satellites after blowing up a satellite of their own in 2007, sending tens of thousands of tiny, untrackable shards into a dangerous orbiting cloud of debris? What hypocrites!
It's about the great firewall. Satellite communication free of China censorship.
those are reserved for the top ten percent we still need reliable internet for the others. cane the criminals from comcast and verizon.
I have very little knowledge about satellite internet, but I guess it would be harder for the Chinese regime to censor any system rather than its own.
The Chinese are not internet but a local net
I'm staying up here
One thing for sure there will be overwhelmingly numbers of satellites flying around the globe by US and China. China will bring the price down to affordable services for majority of people.
Good luck to Space X.
China is too strong. Let's surrender already
Dont support chinas internet, steer away from chinese products if you can
China hates capitalists, so Elon musk for the win ๐
Summary of the video: Space Ex 1000 Satelites into space to download 1000 movies in 10 seconds. China sends 1 satellite downloading 1000 movies in 1 second.
I can see, we are leading ourselves towards the WALL.E future where to get out of Earth you have to pierce through a bubble of Satellites Mess. RIP Humanity, probably that's why Elon Musk wants to run off to Mars as soon as possible.
Lol. Data is for every government. Either US or China , no difference
06:15 What a joke!
Chinese Quality over US quantity..lol
USA is the torchbearer of privacy protection? Edward Snowden??
Spying is the strong point of the US, how else would they know so many things.
Competition is good, when ever you have a monopoly that's the death of capitalism.
Yeah BS on these internet speeds. I still have to wait for my 4K porn to buffer
Why 3D printing?โฆ hmm
Yeah Ive decided you cant trust large journalism these days, every one is owned by some billionare with other companies they try to endorse (Bezos). Independant is really the only good source now
Meta Materials, Inc. has a a crystal clear film wrap that works as an antenna, with RF, 4G, 5G+, and Bluetooth. It can also be used to deice vehicles, aircraft, and spacecraft.
Don't trust the Chinese media, China has no satellites at all๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
Trust me, China government and China economy are about to collapse๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
America will always be number one in the world๐๐๐
Denmark does dirty work for the US to spy lol….
