Why Takeoff And Landing Are So Dangerous
According to Boeing, 49% of all fatal plane accidents happen during the final descent and landing phases of the average flight, while 14% happen during takeoff and the initial climb. One of the reasons for this is altitude — the closer the plane is to the ground, the less time a pilot has to react to problems. Here’s why making a plane stop is actually riskier than making it fly.

Why Takeoff And Landing Are So Dangerous

3:37 average ryanair landing
uh when you are traveling toward the ground you are more likely to hit the ground ya think?
new fear unlocked
you guys really dont know how a plane lands lol
It’s not dangerous
1:30 another cause CFIT. :3
Takeoff and landing are not at all dangerous. They may be the most risky phases of flight but the chances of an accident happening are still incredibly small. The video makes things going wrong during the takeoff roll seem much more dangerous than it actually is, in reality, there are clear rules in place regarding whether the pilots should reject the takeoff or continue: rejecting below 80kts is considered a low speed rejected takeoff and the pilots can do it for pretty much any reason. Above 80kts is considered a high speed rejected takeoff and pilots will only do it if a more serious fault occurs such as an engine failure/fire or a predicted windshear warning. For every takeoff, there is a (calculated) speed at which the pilots must continue with the takeoff called V1. Beyond V1, pilots must not reject the takeoff for any reason except catastrophic failures that render the aircraft unflyable, such as a complete loss of thrust or a loss of pitch control. An engine failure after V1 is not dangerous – the plane can fly just fine on one. Also, the video mentions a landing gear malfunction, this is not dangerous and the pilots won't even notice until they attempt to retract the gear. The gear does increase drag but the plane can still climb perfectly fine and the pilots will simply divert to another airport
lies
Stats dont work like this…..
The first 3 and last 8 minutes of the flight are the danger zone.
Ryanair: ILL MAKE THE LANDING MORE HARDER
LANDING IS SUPER DANGEROUS
WHY? AUTOPILOT
SOMETIMES MAKE CERTAIN ADJUSTMENT OVER A COURSE OF TIME SO WHEN THE PILOT JUST TURNS AUTOPILOT OFF HE CAN BE PUT INTO A DEADLY SITUATION INSTANTLY.
TAKE OFF IS THE MOST DANGEROUS..
=.=====.=
aaah i love that air france A380 model 😍
Whoever is reading this please turn ur hearts to god and repent may God bless u all💕✝️
A plane takes of at 130 knots so if it hade a prob before 130 the pilot can stop but if it is over 130 he hase to continue whith the takof
As a avgeek this triggers me
0:58 STALL STALL STALL
Where is the nose gear and why are you landing nose first
This on my recommendation after indonesia have one more fatal aircraft accident
I was flying back from South Carolina to my hometown, the pilot said “ladies and gentlemen, we’re going to have some minor turbulence going into the airport.” And oh my god, it felt like I was in an earthquake fixickfkfkc
just don't fly Boeing easy

Love how they're using Boeing's statistics but Airbus' models 😂
Im sorry, but y’all barely answered the damn question.
Landing is the most difficult part and every flight simulator player knows that
But how is takeoff and landing dangerous and how is it possible
dude that a380 is missing an engine what
Airplanes are not that safe, we just take the risk. Stop saying that we are safer flying than eating a nice meal, we are not and we'll keep flying and eating.
ta bort trummorna för helvete
This might sound stupid but why can't runways be longer? Like 2x longer? This should allow pilots to reject takeoffs in time since there will be A LOT of space remaining
2:19
wth. Why is the a380 missing an engine?!
Damn deaths are very rare. But if it means saving one life we should ban flying and lockdown the country. The only people that will be allowed to fly again are those who protest because that just makes sense. And we should put all the blame on the person in office because orange=bad.
good video

A landing is a crash because the wheels get damaged as they hit the ground
Tech insider: Takeoffs and Landings are dangerous
Also insider: shows 1 in 2,500,000 statistics
👍
Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.
Ryanair sweating in European…
Why am I watching so many videos about flights when I'm suppose to be taking a flight in 2 days
Those airplane models they used were broken mainly A380
3:38 because you landing with the nose landing gear instead of flaring and landing on rear landing gear
Their dangerous cause what are the odds
What the hell is the take off and Landing was, its took off almost immediately and landed nose first
Take-off and Landings are technically the main parts
